Hello,
So, I called Rick at SS and asked him if there were any instructions to go
with the fabric kit for the headliner, and in his usual droll joking way,
he said that I was slandering him on the LIST. I've known Rick for 33
years, been to his shop at least two time and really enjoy him and his wit. I
said something to the effect that others are in the same situation: they
disassemble, time goes by, the top gets painted, and by the time one gets
around
to putting the liner in, you've forgotten what little you knew about the
project. At any rate, he said he had only done it once (begging off I guess)
but did say that a steamer was really needed at the end of the install. We
need a C.A.T. shop note on this one.
- I said fine to the above, fair enough, it is what it is. BUT...what is
that extra piece of fabric for, that is of headliner material but not
shaped, sewn, or anything. He reported that the company that makes the
headliner
usually throws this in for doing sun visors on other types of cars (ex.
Chevys). Rick indicated that this was totally incorrect for Sunbeams but it is
what they do..... So, that's what that material is for.
Yours for the sport,
Jim Armstrong
