I replaced my unreliable SU with a Fed Mogul (Carter) "turbine" style pump
that I've previously used on other cars. Easy installation as it comes with
a mounting band that fits nicely where the stock band for the SU pump goes.
This pump is a cylinder ~2" in diameter and ~5" long. Car runs great and
the pump is extremely quite (more so even than the SU). Part number is
P60504 (2-4 # pressure), but there's also other part numbers for different
pressures (my car is sporting its original 260 and 2Bbl carb).

What are folks using for a replacement fuel pumps? I have a 1A and 289/F4B
setup,
and the pump in it is a Hardi (probably Beck-Arnley sourced) in the stock
location.
