This should be a no brainer swap; I would think you just need to use
the MK II numbers for the placement of the water pump flange for the fan.
I would set it up first and check where the flange needs to be just in case
there is a difference in where the alternator vs. generator pulley location.
Once satisfied with the belt alignment; also check for any possible
interference with the parts you have then put it together for good.

Subject: [Tigers] Water Pump and timing covers
Does anyone know if you can swap?the thinner 289/ 302 timing cover and
utilize the corresponding thicker water pump with the backing plate for the
original thicker 260 timing pump cover and the thinner water pump without
backing plate (hi-po style water pump).? Getting the passenger side outlet
is not a problem, and the different diameter on the pulley shafts do not
seem to be a major issue.? Curious if anyone has dobe this swap, or knows
what the +/- delta would be on the distance from the block to the pulley
face?
