Steve
I would try Silicone Grease. The Ford manual I have does not
specify a lubricant for it.
I would not think that would be the cause of the hard shifting but I don't
have the parts in hand or sight.
You do have Dextron ATF or similar in the transmission which is the
recommended fluid for a 5 speed?

Subject: [Tigers] A Shifty Question
And speaking of shifters, I have a non-stock shifter assembly on my 5
speed Tiger transmission that I have off the transmission. What is the
recommended lubricant for the shifter "ball" assembly? I want to use
something that will stay on there for a long time. It's very dry now,
which explains why it didn't shift that easily.
Thanks as usual to our excellent list.
