The DVD of the film also has a documentary filmed in the early 1970's by the
producer/director (?) of The Worlds Fastest Indian. There are several
instances where scenes from the documentary have made it in the film. There
are also some deleted scenes that add a bit more to the movie.

Hi,
All things being equal, I felt the "props", tow truck, etc, took a lot
away from the "historical" aspects of the film. But, having said that, I am
somewhat critical of those historical films. I do agree that it was not a
documentary but a re-creation of a historical event. I also agree that Burt
was a genious of a mechanical engineer and worthy of all the alcolades that he
received..no doubt about it..:-) Howard The Blues is the only music Original
to the United States of America.

Howard, I am curious about your comment below.."a bit far fetched for my
money," What is far fetched? This actually occurred and Burt Monro
is still in the record books. While some artistic license might have happened,
the underlying story is correct. Several of my land speed racing friends were
there and indeed chipped in money for Burt, as seen in the movie. Only the tow
car was an earlier model of chevy, lol...
trailer looked just like still photos from the time. Yes, he did cast his own
pistons and he did machine his own overhead valve heads for the old Indian
flathead motor cycle. Burt Monro is an icon to most of us who do race on the
salt.
