1214930 wheels were the ONLY wheels used on the
Minx V and VI. The Minx V was introduced in the
UK in late 1963, about six months or so before
the first Tiger appeared. I would suggest that
someone had retrofitted earlier wheels to your
Alpine. Of course, this might have happened at
the factory: Rootes, by that point, was dying,
and so used up parts on hand. That is why the
Alpine V came from the factory with the
hand-crank bolt not fitted on the Alpine
IV: someone found a couple of boxes of them in a
back store-room so, "let's use these up".
