Lynn,

As I recall, diesel engines use the fuel that also provides 
lubrication.  The direct injection 6 cyl. Mercedes 300SL GAS fuel pump 
was of a a very special design.  While it "looked" like a 6 cyl. diesel  
pump, it was sealed and lubricated to pump gas.  And very expensive, 
running $1200 rebuild in 1960's.

I am not sure how your diesel engine is lubricated, but it is a 
consideration.
