If memory serves, the gas tank covers where made of plywood and covered with
the same material as the spare tire/trunk platfor. They had a piece of thin
angle rivetted on each cover to help support the trunk platform. They didnt
fair well out of the car as heat helped the covering to come unglued and the
wood and any moisture made the outer edges very brittle- maybe even the heat
help more so. I kept some as patterns in the bits and pieces area . TtT
