Did you install a new belt? Is the alignment of the belt and
pulleys correct?

Is the top surface of the belt nearly level with the edge of the pulleys?

If the belt is down in the grove of the pulleys; it is the wrong style belt
or if the belt rides high on the pulleys the pulley is the wrong style or a
combination problem exists.

The Original fan belt part # is C2OZ-8620-E; 50.1" x 15/32", JB-501, up
dated part number C9PZ-8620-AK

There are belt dressings you can spray on the belt and pulleys but I'm not
convinced they work that well.

The pulley grooves maybe glazed and need a little sandpaper to roughen them
up or a pulley is worn and needs replacement.

Hope this helps

i recently installed a 13" 6 blade flex fan where previously i only had an
electric pusher. the results are obviously very satisfactory, taking care
of the marginal cooling in traffic and high temps perfectly.

i have noticed however that i now get a squeaking from the fan belt as
it slips (particularly as the engine picks up or at mid-high rpm. i
tightened it little and it improved but is still happening. i'm not sure i
want to tighten any more as its already fairly tight and i wouldn't want to
over strain the alternator or water pump.

i guess slipping can't be good for the belt as it'll heat it up a lot, so
are there an tips to making it a bit stickier?
