since all you great minds are on the topic of replacement fuel pumps....

I am planing to replace the stock pump myself with a holley pump
located in the vacant spare tire well. i have stock tanks with what i
assume is the stock metal pipe exiting the car from the crossover pipe
by the trunk lock and running forward under the trunk floor to the
pump that sits just above the right muffler where it warms the fuel
nicely!

my plan - which i'd like to run by more experienced people - is to
replace the metal pipe with a 6AN sized stainless braided hose to a
bulkhead fitting in the tire well. inside, another short length of
stainless braided hose to the fuel pump and then out again via another
bulkhead fitting. then attach more stainless braided hose to the
original metal fuel line just in front of the muffler with a regular
hose clamp. does this sound ok from a safety perspective? my
concern is having the fuel pump in the trunk when there is no physical
separation between the trunk and the passenger compartment although it
does seem moderately better than the existing arrangement.

i'm not sure what the existing screw on fitting under the trunk lock
is and what kind of hose end / adaptor i should get to screw directly
onto that in place of the metal pipe. anyone know off hand?

many thanks as always.
