Just talked to an expert.  The red grease in under the clutch slave boot is to
just catch dirt.  Was told that anything 100% synthetic should work fine.

    Looks like the latter charges $39 for the 500 gram tub, where the UK
    supplier charges 5 pounds. Seems like Owain could make a killing by
    buying this stuff locally and shipping it to North America.
