In most Ford engines from the 60's and 70's low oil pressure can be a strong clue to worn cam bearings. This information comes from one of the lead developer (Joe Begosian) of the "J" code motors such as the 260 and Ford DFG motors. A change of oil pump may be costly and not necessary.
