DOT 5 is more compressible, somewhat "spongier" feel. If your not reallly
pushing
the car hard, it is probably fine. It is lower maintenance and you don't have
to
worry
about it's secondary function as a good paint remover.
DOT 4 is "higher performance" but has more affinity for water, if you don't
change
it
somewhat regularly has the potential to rust the internals of your brake system.
I personally am happy with my DOT 5.
