John Logan asked for some info regarding DIY Air/Fuel meters. A quick search of Google found these two. One you make yourself and the other is a kit. While most use LED's a cheap volt meter (Harbor Freight usually has them for about $3.99) can also be used. However, they are harder to read while driving than a LED.
