Relating to our current cooling discussion, on page 178 of the current
Summit Racing catalog is a heading for an item saying "Improve coolant
flow by 60%".........Attach one of these Flow Kooler impeller discs to
the back side of your water pump's impeller and increase coolant flow by
up to 60%. The discs reduce cavitation, lower water temperature and
increase water circlulation."
The picture shows what appears to be a simple round metal plate, with an
open center section for water to flow through, with three holes for
attachment and a couple of pop rivits. Cost is a massive $5.95. There is
one listed for our engines.
Could this item do what it claims, and if water flow increases up to
60%, is that too much water flow, or is there no such thing as too much
(as in there's no such thing as "too much" horsepower!) ?
