Thanks for all the gas saving replies to my thirsty tiger problem. The
following two changes made a difference from getting 10-11 mpg to 16.4 mpg
for the same trip, carefully measured.
1. Reattach the blocked off vacuum advance and dial it in to factory specs.
2. Cut down the vent tubes to give more clearance between them and the air
filter housing top and drop the setting on the front float slightly on the
650 Holly double pumper.
The car is more linear in its response to the throttle. It has lost a little
torque off idle, and picked up some in the midrange.
