I'm 49 and I bought my car in the summer of 1976 from the original owner. He
bought it from Larry Reed Sports Cars in California, then moved to Minnesota
a couple of years later. After arriving in Minnesota he said he drove it
only one winter (which accounts for the almost rust free condition it was
in) before he parked it in his car port when he bent a valve. Eventually his
son shot out all the glass with a BB gun and the carb had squirrels nesting
it in when I happened by and recognized the car for what it was. By that
time his wife was pushing for him to get rid of it, so I negotiated a deal
where he took my '65 Plymouth Belvedere wagon in trade and gave me $75 and
the Tiger. I had the 260 rebuilt and drove it for about a year before a
drunk driver clipped it and tore the driver's side rear fender off. I had it
repired by some yahoo working out of his father-in-lw's garage, but it was
never right. I started a restoration on it many years ago, but unfortunately
life has gotten in the way too many times to have ever gotten the car
completed and it still sits disassembled in my garage. Someday soon,
though... -- Arden
