Jim,
I saw that article and, as you do, I have always put a cover on. I  have 
never seen a moisture problem.  I think as long as the cover can breath that 
it's 
okay.  Of course, if someone is storing in a damp place or on bare ground it 
might be a different story.  Another recommendation I saw a few years back said 
to put plastic under the car.  If it is a damp location, I think that is a 
good idea.
