Personally, I agree with the idea that the short sidewall, 15" rim/tire
looks somehow "wrong" on a Tiger...not bad, mind you, just not "correct". I
have
seen a number of cars running the larger diameter rims and must say they do
look very cool, but more modern.
I'm leaning towards a period correct, 13" X 6" rim with Kumho Victoracers
205/60-13, when I put my Tiger back on the road. The Victoracer is the most
street friendly of the DOT R tires and wears fairly well, but still provides
lots of grip. Performance wise, you will not be giving up anything on the
common
15" with "high performance" street tires, you'll be adding grip. With the
correct backspacing and some very light massaging of the valence and fender
lips, the fit is fine, also.
