Tiger of a different stripe--Non-sunbeam, but car related

Part of the research group is located in Coventry--guess there's a 
tie-in to where our Tigers were born.
And a while back, someone was asking about alternators (I think) for 
their Tiger--Not exactly easy to fit to our Tigers, but....
