Steering Rack Lubrication

I was wondering if anyone has ever filled there steering rack with grease
rather than the required oil lubricant? If so, could you share your
experience with us. I am in the process of rebuilding a steering rack from
another LBC and was considering installing a grease fitting and filling the
rack with grease. I just want to know if anyone has done this before and
what was it like on the road.
