I apologize to Mr. Brennan and the List in advance, but I think his logic is
flawed.
The rules for baseball are the same at every park. The rules at each NASCAR
race are consistent. I do not like this analogy. Rules should be
standardized, scores are standardized, etc. Why do we have standardized
measurements.
What if we measured the temperature differently in Miami that we would in Los
Angeles? SAT, MCAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT scores are standardized for undergraduate
and graduate studies.
I think the better analogy is that rules are standardized with separate
classes such as a modified class or stock class.
What if I want to run autocross races around the country or I want to enter
a concours event in different regions. It would be a headache for me to find
out each area's rules and follow them throughout the years. Corvettes,
Ferraris and Shelbys have policies, rules and regulations that are standardized
and
that are the same at every event wherever you go.
I have a financial background, so please forgive my anal retentiveness.
Chaos is our enemy. We have one club president who approves, what about the CAT
and STOA presidents?
Maybe Sunbeam Tiger owners are a different breed and they do not want to be
regulated. Anarchists are we? Just kidding.
