If you can work with the logic that "cheap" means putting it in once and
not having to tear it back out because it's not set up right or because
some other parts in the car don't fit it, then hook up with Barry
Schonberger and see if he's got one available, and what he thinks is the
best place to get a 3.07 or 3.31 gearset. I don't know who is the best
guy around to set up your diff, but if you haven't done it before and
you don't have the proper tools, then it can be a very frustrating task,
especially since you have to stretch the housing to get the gears out
and back in. Noisy diff gears are annoying even if they're set close
enough to not shred themselves to pieces.
