The 5.0 from an 88 Mark 7 has the same outside dimensions as all other 260, 
289, 302 engines except for the smaller stock 260 and 289 rocker covers. 

Also, GT 40 heads will fit. Just to be sure, you should check the valve to 
piston clearance before you torque them down.  It may be necessary to enlarge 
the eyebrows a little if the valves in that head are larger than the 88 engine.
