On the tach: If you find a MGB or Midget tach (easier than finding an
Alpine or Tiger one), it is internally identical to the Tiger tach.
Bypass the guts with a tach rebuild module, then put the 7k RPM decal
that Matthew Taylor makes on the face, and calibrate it accordingly. The
only things that now are "wrong" is that the needle doesn't have the
right center, some of the script on the center of the tach face isn't
right (you could black that all out), and the bezel is not the right
kind to match the other Alpine/Tiger instruments. If you start out with
an Alpine tach, then you get all the right stuff except it says "4
cylinder" in the center of the tach.
