Seal Uncertainty

Hi,

There is a seal that runs along the B-post, it is a rubber piece with a
metal insert that slips over the body lip;

I just got my door panels on and I noticed that this seal doesn't seem to do
much.  Or maybe I have it installed wrong or swapped side for side?  Which
way is this seal supposed to curl?  Is it supposed to touch the door?
