Dash Pad

I'm at the point of putting a new top dash pad in place, and it looks like a
tricky little job at best, where you only get one shot at it. If anyone has
any advice or instructions on the best way to do this it would be greatly
appreciated.

There is more vinyl around the new one than the old one that came off. Do
you cut this off before or after glueing the new pad in?
