There never was a stock "split bumper". Looks like someone just cut the
center out of a stock bumper and then mounted the license plate there.
As you can see, it's very hard to maintain proper alignment of the
bumper halves after that since there's only one bolt on each side
holding the bumper in place in the stock configuration. If you wanted to
do that without adding extra holes to the bodywork, you could probably
make a reinforcing leg that slid into the jacking slots, and kept things
straight that way. Much like the Lucas electrics, the jacking points are
useless for their intended purpose anyway. ;)
