Theo and List,

  Perhaps that is the next step but the car doesn't hiccup and is running
real good. Even as the tach jumps around there is strong acceleration from
500 to 70 with no hesitation.

"Have you tried re-installing the old coil to see if the problem goes
away? Is it possible that the coil power connection (through the ballast
resistor) is intermittent? Does the car hiccup at all when the tach
jumps around?"
