The Book of Norman has probably the most insightful comments on which Tigers
were equipped with vinyl dashes. Mike Taylor's book has a brief comment at the
end of the chapter titled ""More and More Tests" (p. 77 in mine), which
indicated that originally Tigers were going to be marketed in 'Tourer' and 'GT'
versions, like the Alpine, where the Tourer would receive a vinyl dash and the
GT, the upscale wood veneer dash. Only about 15 true GT's were ever built
according to TBON, and all Tigers after about the first 400 received the wooden
dash.
