I would agree with what Theo said. I too considered the Alger route, but
as I became aware of what made a Tiger a TIGER, the Tiger communities view
of Algers, and all the alterations needed it wasn't just a 289 and a
toploader swap that was needed. In the end I bought an "iron oxide special"
Tiger that is now going through Cemotherapy. You can read the knuckle

In spite of my labors I'm still glad I got a Tiger. Regardless of its
condition or my restoration skills it is still a TIGER, and no Alger,
regardless of how wonderful a car it is (and I have seen some really nice
ones and they have my due respect) can match that.
