My adapter kit came with the piece that you screw into the block, so nothing additional was required. Is it worth it? Yes. It makes oil changes much easier, and you do not have to worry about one of those stupid hoses failing, etc. I use the smaller PH3600/FL400 size filter on mine. With this, you do not have the problem of interference with the engine mount. Stu |
