Tim, when I did my cold air box, I used the same seal that is used on 
the trunk.  It stick up, and the clamping lower portion goes over any 
sheet metal piece.

Of course, you have to play with cutting the box so that it fits within 
1/2" or less to the hood.  The cut and fit routine.
