Since over the years, I have seen several Tigers with
studs that were overtightened and are now so loose
they will come out.  Remember the studs just have
sheet metal screws on them.  Screwing them in often
cut the paint and became a source of rust.  May I
suggest your switch to the studs that have machine
screws instead of sheet metal screws.  Then a simple
washer, lock washer, or lock nut can hold it in place.
These screws can be found at any boat shop.  While
doing this I used the CAT tech tip and switched to the
double length studs along the back.  This way
I can leave my boot cover snapped down when I put
on the tonneau.  Of course if your car is a MK I with
metal boot covers, you wouldn't care.

Just my suggestion on how to improve the breed.
