I can tell you that the flywheel for a high performance 289 is definitely
different from a standard 289. The difference I know about through experience
is that the balancing is definitely different. I found this out when I
installed a hp 289 using the original flywheel from the non-hp 289. I solved
the problem of much vibration by having the flywheel re-balanced (actually
out-of-balanced) the same as a hp flywheel.
