I have a S IV Alpine and an early Tiger sitting side by side in my
garage. In the Alpine, B9401380, there is a webbing strap mounted
immediately to the left of the spare wheel location, about 5 5/8 inches
up from the floor of the trunk. The strap uses two holes about 1 1/8
inches apart horizontally, and is rivetted into the sheet metal using a
single small metal plate under the rivet heads. I use this strap to
secure my fire extinguisher, but had thought that it was probably there
to hold the tool roll. In my earlier S III GT, which came from the
factory with steel disc wheels, the strap was present.
In the Tiger, B9470349, there are signs of the same two holes in exactly
the same location, but they were filled with some sort of filler before
the car was originally painted.
Is this what we are talking about?
