While I was judging Tiger trunk compartments at the recent TE/AE United an
owner of a MKII told me he'd never seen the battery vent assembly before. I
told him if he'd give me his email address I'd be glad to send him a scan of a
picture I had of one. Well, he never gave me his email address and for the
life of me I can remember who it was, so I thought I'd post a link to them on
my web page.
The photos were taken in 1967 when the car was new and are of the trunk
compartment and engine compartment of the MKII that Road and Track tested.
Can't get more original then that. I got the photos from Road and Track in
the late 1970's. You use to be able to get a copy of any photo the had in
their archives for a couple of bucks. A true photograph not a photocopy.
Don't know if you still can, but I doubt it. We requested photo's of the MKI
they tested in 1964, but they couldn't locate them. Such a shame.
Notice the jute material on the trunk platform brackets and the bluecol
sticker on the overflow tank.
I've uploaded two different size pictures. The _2 are smaller so they load
faster, but you can't see as much detail.
Enjoy,
Jim
