Listers,
While driving my Mk1a to a Socal Shelby function, my car and I were the victim
of a fellow motorists misjudgment. The result being the complete destruction
of my car's right front fender and the leading edge of the passenger door.
I cant believe it happened to me, but it has. Details as follows;
I was driving along a two lane road when a fellow motorist in a Ford F-150
made a left turn across my lane right in front of me. Obviously she didn't see
me. I braked hard, (all four Comp T/A's are flat spotted), and that gave her
just enough time to position the right side of her rear bumper directly in
line with my right side headlight. The bumper of the Ford peeled open my
passenger-side fender like a can opener, subsequently driving the trailing
edge of the fender underneath the leading edge of the door. Its a mess.
This event will, I'm sure, test the benefits of "Collector Car" insurance. and
my patience.
All complaining aside, I am now in dire need of a right front clip, both inner
and outer fenders and a valance, I will take an entire front clip as well, not
to mention right side turn signal, head light door, upper grill opening trim
section, SS fender trim, Tiger script "260" badge surround, etc.
Please reply if you have any of these parts (Tiger or Alpine V) available.
I cant believe this has happened, but It has.
All involved human parties appear to be unhurt, but my Tiger is hurting.
I had it all detailed and ready for British Car Day in Fallbrook tomorrow. Oh
well, maybe next year.
Watch out.
Mike
