Missing and Shifting

Well this is where I am. The shifting problem was an adjustment at the
shifter. I got to it through the access on the firewall. Lots of play in my
30+ shifter.
Missing on the #1 cylinder. I swapped my carb from a 600 single pump to a
600 dual pump I had but never used. That fixed the miss. I can now recreate
the miss by adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw. I need to have someone who
knows carbs adjust it for me.
Has anyone heard of a starvation problem on the #1 cylinder?
