Back when, I re-plumbed the rear axle on my race car using some bend-to-fit brake tubing and one side sheared off shortly after installation twice due to vibration. The third time I put some hose clamps further up the rear axle tube, which changed the resonant frequency of the line enough to keep it from doing that. Vibration is a killer, and stress risers like swaging marks, crimps, and the like are ideal places for cracks to start. Theo |
