Pat, if your MSD goes south, then you need to be able to convert back to
a conventional ignition system, with a ballast resistor. I had this
problem with a 76 Vette, real dog, and it saved me a tow bill.
You can wire in the ballast resistor normally and no problem. Look at
MSD wiring diagram again.
