Jim,
the factory option fire extinguisher bolted behind the driver's seat in
a vertical location. It was, generally, of a slim design. I have an
automotive one of nearly the same size, and manual placement seems to
indicate a similar capability.
You will, however, be getting out of the seat, releasing the rake adjust
to forward, and unclamping the extinguisher.
Many cars mont these on the left inner body panel ahead of the door, and
under the dash. I am not sure how close this comes to your clutch leg,
but it would be a simple matter to try one out in the parking lot of a
cooperative auto parts store.
I have seen slimmer chromed units that may be a better fit.
