There is more detail regarding the racing history of
the Shelby prepared Tiger (#45 and later #74) at
Norm Miller's website:
http://www.rootes1.com/index.asp (look under historical glimpses 1999,
you'll see a yellow Tiger picture
which you can click on)
The yellow Shelby prepared Tiger was wrecked, and according
to Norm, and written off at the Nassau race in December of 1964.
A Lotus sports racer (a 23? not sure) spun in front of Don which he couldn't
avoid.
The SECOND car which you see Sports Car Forum racing in 1965 is a moonstone
white
Tiger carrying Don's usual number, #74. This car was a brand new car for
1965.
Probably some of the mechanical components were procured from the
original Shelby car. I think its first appearance was at VIR in April of
1965.

The yellow Shelby prepared Tiger - according to reports - was disassembled
and
used for parts. So its last race was Nassau in 1964.
I have more images of Don's moonstone white Tiger which I have been
collecting.
I even have an one image which must be the shakedown run since no numbers
are on the car and the car is REALLY free of dings and dents. Perhaps it
was a "before the season" practice.
