Chris, Read Tim Ronak's great new Performance Tuning article on firewall clearance, with pictures of his out-the-top, along with the factory method. why even his kids could do it. He is NOT using headers, but you can see his motor mounts are installed. Which stick out further? You may have to remove the chassis mounted brackets.
