Up here the ADSL is everything cable is, and more... It really depends on which
way the majority of your traffic goes, and also how many others are on your
local cable run. I'm on cable (my new email address is tsmit@shaw.ca, by the way
- just haven't updated my list subscription yet), and I notice a huge difference
in data download speeds from morning to night time (when there's tons of other
users on). With ADSL, you get dedicated lines from the switch to your house, and
that is good if (a)the lines are good, and (b)the phone company has enough
bandwidth upstream of the switch.
