Steve
In 1986 I bought a 1965 Ford Fairlane with 79,000 miles on the original
289 V8. I changed oil at 3000 miles, never needing to add oil between
changes. A friend talked me into trying Amsoil products. So in 1987 on
a 22 year old car with 90,000 miles I started using synthetic oil.
Several years ago my friend stopped selling Amsoil, so I switched to
Mobil 1. Today, 14 years later the Fairlane has 165,000 miles and I
have yet to add oil between changes. My oil change interval has
increased to about 5,000 miles.
