Scott.. some years ago I had a problem with blowing the seal on the block
adaptor ( I was VERY unpopular at one autocross at a Sunbeam Northwest event
when I oiled the course)  After several repeats using new gaskets etc I
measured the hollow bolt and found that it was bottoming in the block just
about the time the gasket was getting snug.  Trimmed about 1/8 in off the
bolt and never had it happen again.
