14 years ago I happened to be in CA (haven't needed to go
back since) and stopped by SS. Among the many items I
bought was a new McLeod clutch/throw out bearing from
Rick. I was extra fortunate in that he had one on hand that
had been returned. Seems that Rick had every other spring
HD instead of all springs HD. The result was about a 1800 lb
clutch instead of the 2400 lb HD. Better than stock and
easier on the left leg than the 2400 lb clutch. Its been 14 years
and one teenage son and its still working.
I have heard good things about centerforce but can say McLeod
works fine. I would recommend the 1800 lb setup unless you are
out and out racing. Of course new McLeod throw out bearing,
pilot bearing, and resurface the flywheel.
