Bad 30 year old capicators. There have been previous tech tips on which
to change. However I do not have the information any more. I have tried
rebuilding the tacks many times and I finally gave up and bought an
"Auto Meter" 0 to 8000 RPM from Auto Pro Racing in Palm Bay. Got a matching
"Auto Meter" 160 MPH speedometer as well. Took the original Tiger Tack
and Speedometer cases, removed the glass and inserted the new meters in the
old cases. Drilled a hole here and there in the rear of the old cases for
mounting screws of the new insturments. I now have effectively double
chrome bezels on the insturments, but it doesn't look bad at all.
the Auto Meter instruments are solid as a rock and apparently accurate.
For example I added a MSD 6aL ignition with a 6000 RPM limiter module.
I can floor the Tiger in neurtal and the Auto Meter tack sets exactly
at 6000 RPM.
