Another issue, to add to Theo's comments, is consideration of moving the
frame support to the left side, where the MK II places it. This is
reputed to be the correct place for it to begin with. Besides, there are
no old rusted brackets on the unused side.
Maybe someone can venture a guess as to why Rootes did it "wrong" in the
first place, and why the other side makes any difference, as the rod
seems to prevent lateral motion in either direction?
